He also predicted that the interest rate will settle around 2.25% to 2.50% depending on economic data and outlook come the Fed&#8217;s September 20 meeting.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascityfed.org\/Jackson%20Hole\/documents\/9037\/JH_Paper_Bianchi.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">new study presented at the Kansas City Fed<\/a> reported that central banks&#8217; monetary policy could fail to control inflation if governments don&#8217;t adjust their fiscal policies accordingly; it asserts that government budgets are a decisive factor in curbing high inflation because raising interest rates isn&#8217;t enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germany-gas-storage-filling-up-faster-than-expected-ahead-of-winter\/a-62956111\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Germany&#8217;s fears of a winter gas shortage dissipated<\/a> after the country&#8217;s Economy Minister stated that they&#8217;re ahead of schedule in replenishing their stockpile. Russia accounted for 55% of Germany&#8217;s gas supply before throttling gas exports in response to wartime sanctions.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/germany-prepares-possible-nationalisation-gazprom-germania-paper-2022-08-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Germany&#8217;s government might nationalize Gazprom Germania<\/a>\u2014an abandoned local branch of Russia&#8217;s mostly-state-owned gas company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-08-28\/default-jitters-stalk-egypt-sending-traders-on-a-wild-ride\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Egypt is inching toward an economic crisis<\/a> as it risks defaulting on its foreign debt.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The exchange rate of the Egyptian pound plunged after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/economic-crisis-leaves-egyptians-in-the-dark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">$14.6 billion of investments left the country,<\/a> largely due to concerns about the impact of the war in Ukraine.
