The Brief

MoneyMade Verdict

Fidelity Go is the strongest no-fee robo-advisor for everyday investors — especially those who already bank or invest with Fidelity — but its lack of tax-loss harvesting and limited portfolio customization will push more sophisticated investors elsewhere.

Fidelity Go is Fidelity Investments' robo-advisor offering, launched in 2016 to complement the firm's traditional brokerage and wealth management services. It's one of the few major robo-advisors in the U.S. that is genuinely free for smaller account balances — investors with less than $25,000 pay no advisory fee, and only balances above that threshold incur a 0.35% annual management fee. Portfolio construction uses Fidelity's own proprietary "Flex" mutual funds, which charge no expense ratios at the fund level, making the all-in cost structure among the most competitive in the industry for small-account investors.

The platform builds diversified portfolios across seven risk levels, from conservative to aggressive, using a mix of stock and bond funds. Fidelity Go automatically rebalances portfolios quarterly and when market movements push the allocation meaningfully off target. The service supports individual taxable accounts, Traditional and Roth IRAs, and Rollover IRAs. Account opening requires a $10 initial deposit, though the robo-advisor won't begin investing the portfolio until $10 is contributed.
